Ice cube making machine
10 Answers
I am thinking of buying an ice cube maker.
I buy bags of ice cubes at present and it will be simpler to make my own. I tried just using ice cube trays but my hands shake and - well it was a complicated task. ;-)
Does anybody know HOW the machine makes the ice cubes? Does it contain little ice cube trays or is it something technical?
This is the one that I have my eye on - http://www.amazon.co....ef=reg_hu-rd_add_1_dp

Or if you want to use a tray something like

is easy to use. Similar might be available cheaper elsewhere.

So - bang goes another master plan.
I have been using the bags - but I go through tons of ice cubes and thought that it would be cheaper to buy a toy/machine that I could play with/use.
I am an ice cube cruncher - the local water is very good and is much better when it is frozen/chilled so much it is almost frozen.
wildwood - I chuck lots of nasty chemicals/drugs down my throat daily (including Lithium) so I have reached the stage of not trying to be too fussy about additives and chemicals in plastic. The additives might actually be what is keeping me going.
Thanks everybody.

unless you are prepared to shell out £1000 on an 'american' fridge freezer, Ice cube bags are by far he simplest and most hygenic way to go. An alternatve is the 'ice cube' bottles that you can get in poundland. They do work but take up at least 4x the volume of the cubes ( half spheres) that they produce, and need to be placed on a level surface.
