Does anyone remember these products? I honestly thought most of them were not available any more.

A few of these and a Sheila airer and I'm ready to go.

remember some, not sure about sheila airer though?
Eew, I hated Victory Vs - they reminded me of when I had gas at the dentist's, same taste. (that's gas to knock me out - not wind ;) )
I've got a Sheila airer in the kitchen - very handy it is too.
I'm the same with the old Victory Vs. I could never keep one in my mouth for more than 10 seconds.

When we were young and slow to get up and ready for school, my father would rattle a ruler between the rails of the Sheila maid. We could never figure out what he was doing to make such a noise. Sheer curiosity got us out of bed. When we got downstairs, of course he had stopped - it was a long time before he gave in to our begging to know how he had made the noise.
Disgusting weren't they Scotman? and I never could suck a Fisherman's Friend ;)
Quality and value for money are not available any more either, are they?
I was given a Fishermans Friend once, I thought it was so disgusting that I spat it out into my cotton hankie (remember them?). By the time I got home, the FF had rotted a hole right through my hankie.

Housewives used to put it in the window.
It was 'Old Man Out', wasn't it annemollie?

I'm amazed that I didn't pass out, as I used to eat a whole packet of Victory V's in one sitting, I loved them so much!

Yes, Alec
Old man out or On my own. Or so I've been told!
Whats a Sheila Airer
Cremola Foam. You got it in lemon, orange and raspberry. Lick your finger and dip it in - lovely stuff.
Tara - fill yer boots ;)

Thanks, karenmac for that. I'll be in Scotland next week (near Dumbarton) so I'll keep a lookout. Never realised I spelled it wrong!
Now I also know what a Sheila Airer is. We of the lower classes called it 'the pulley in the kitchen'!
Oh, if you're near Dumbarton then go into Tom Swan's shop in Renton, he was one of the first places to sell it. Where is it you're going to be? I'm very near Dumbarton myself :)
