why no beatles on 60's albums

I am constantly seeing albums that say the greatest hits of the 60’s and so on, but none of the albums feature the Beatles. As they dominated the charts in that era why is this?

Aspinall made it a firm rule that no Beatles track would never appear on a compilation, or in any advert for film or tv.
Since his death in 2008, that rule appears to have relaxed, ans Beatles' songs (but not the originals) are creeping into adverts on TV, and a compilation entry may not be that far away.
That is the reason why no Beatles song has been featured on a 'hits' compilation to date.
