ELO my faves too, also Slade, Sweet, Smokie and a lot of the early 70s stuff was fantastic, Middle Of The Road and 60s carryovers Marmalade and Tremeloes, what fantastic days growing up and knowing all the songs and following TOTP every week without fail. In my quest to own them all I spent all my money on records and now have over 100,000, what wonderful pleasure...
I was there. Among the good stuff there was also dross......ladies and jellyspoons I give you the Osmonds .......................................'nuff said
Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath, Queen, Blondie, Smokie, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Deep Purple, The Who, Earth Wind & Fire, Wings, Thin Lizzie, Bay City Rollers, The Carpenters ...............
If you're seeking musicians of quality, who really added something new to the music scene, then Pink Floyd, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, and Deep Purple (among others) ought to be near to the top of anyone's list.
But if you want to know who I simply enjoyed listening to most, then Roxy Music might top my list!
