I've spent a couple of hours going through some of my CD's and doing the whole barcode thingy with them, to get a grand total of £38.00 for 85 CD LOL!!

Anyhoo....I got to thinking (I do occasionally!) what do these companies do with your CD's once they've bought 'em? I've tried Googling but not really got a definitive answer apart from the usual "they sell 'em on for a profit" replies from other forums ive looked at, which doesn't really answer my query fully- who do they sell 'em on to? If that's what they do indeed do with them.

Thank you very muchly :-)

No idea B00 but I did the same thing and got a grand total of £28. I gave up in the end and I'm trying to sell everything on ebay for 99p + postage instead. Its a bit more than the 30 or 40p they quote on Music Magpie.

I know Tiggs, but its just so not worth the hassle (i'm lazy ok? LOL), rather sell the whole lot in one package that I don't even have to cart to the post office- result!
I agree, eBay's a much better better - or a car boot sale.
^ better bet...

See above Boxy :P
If you scan a Cliff Richard cd your total drops to a minus figure.....
Local independant record/cd shop might give you a little more than mm.
I couldn't part with any of my cds :|
B00, sell it as a job lot on eBay, then - one parcel....

haha mickrog, and if its a Johnny Mathis one, they send someone round to knee cap you? ;-)

Appreciate all the suggestions folks, but ive already sold them, so pretty useless to me now, what i'm after is what companies likes Music Magpie do with them?
I thought that as well and wanted to get rid of a load of CD, DVDs and a couple of DS games. As I'm selling quite a lot of Little Tiggs's baby stuff on ebay so I just thought I'd do that with the CDs etc. I do agree that it is a lot of hassle but I've nearly got rid of everything. Just waiting for the next free insertion weekend to come up for the last lot :o)
Sorry B00, didn't see your last post.

I'll shut me cake'ole now :o/
music magpie refurb all these discs and sell them on to retailers such as poundland.

you know that for definite wilkesneil? So can I expect Mr Boo's CD of shame (Debbie Gibson) turning up at Poundland???
Ha, would Debbie Gibson be worth a pound Boo.
turning up and not selling. Being there for evermore, and all the neighbours recognising it.
Cliff Richard in Poundland for a pound?.......sounds about right to me lol....maybe a little overpriced though

The sad thing is rocky, when I dug Debbie out to put the barcode into Magpie, he went "awwww" and went all gooey eyed!
Would a Debbie Gibson Cd come in OUT OF THE BLUE ?
