I have looked in my British Hit Singles book and Toy Dolls are the only group listed as recording Nellie the Elephant.

The most memorable version (possibly the original) was by Mandy Miller in 1956. It camn be found on many compilations of old children's favourites - try "Children's Classics" in HMV's "3 for �15" range or "Hello Children Everywhere".
