I didn't hear the show but a track that springs to mind is an old Enigma song
Didn't hear the show, but I'll take an educatd guess that it was 'Sadness' by Engima. If the song has a flute playing, and then a drum beat underneath, then it's virtually certainly this.

Enigma started a brief craze for taking Gregorian chants and putting beats underneeath them, but like most novelties, it didn't last.
Maybe this? They actually used chants like this on quite a few tracks. I'll try to remember their main hit

Thanks Andy- yes, Sadness was the one I was thinking of

Or failing everything else, you could email the show and ask. I recently emailed Five Live when on the excellent Mayo & Kermode film review slot, I'd tuned in halfway through a five star review but because they didn't mention what film it was at the end I was none the wiser. They emailed straight back with the information and promised to do better in future! Impressed.
the playlist on Steve Wright's web page says it was indeed Sadeness Part 1 by Enigma
Well done, Mushroom, so sounds as though the info is available pretty much after the programme, rather than the next day.
