They'd never come to my attention before now katburd but like they said back in my schooldays, better to put an answer down as leave it blank. :)

I hadn't heard of them but they do have a few songs on Youtube.
I can't think of any other spotted creatures such as snakes that fit

I don't think SPIDER MONKEYS fits the clue. though.
Yes, they are found in South (and Central) America but I can't see any reason to describe them as 'lethal' (assuming 'leathal' was a typo).
I also expected the answer to be something with a spotted appearance, although of course 'spotted' may just mean 'seen'.
I have checked out deadly snakes and spiders and found nothing that fits.

And of course the answer need not be a singer/group - it could be anything to do with music such as an instrument.

Is the clue CREATURES or CREATURE?
I thought it was posted previously as creature. If it is plural RATTLE SNAKES fits and the music connection could be RATTLE.
