I think that styles are just changing, RnB is huge now, young people (not all of them) like winding to RnB tunes. I don't think you would catch you average 20 something bopping along to Hi-Ho Silver Lining.
What are you thinking Mortartube? Come On Eileen? Jees, you'll be asking us to start skidding across the floor on our knees soon and dancing with our grannies. Community Centre discos nationwide. Oooops upside your head......
My nephew is only 3 and he is always singing "Mister Loneleeeeeeeey", also going off the point a bit but the Will Smith one really appeals to that age too.
acw we must be around the same age. Vodka? Did you go to a 'posh' school? I thought it was White LIghtening and Mad Dog, and I remember Michael Jackson Earth Song being played all the time. Don't remember hearing Hi Ho Silver Lining in the 90's!
Oooh, that "Young at Heart" by the Bluebells was on a lot though.
I'm technically acw_1983 - but only born 3 days into that year. I went to a grammar school. We realised that cider looks like wee, but vodka looks like water. Also I tihnk we were probably stealing from our parents' liquor cupboards rather than risking going into shops where all the staff knew us. We had one birthday party end VERY early when the girl's mum caught people drinking. Poor thing was MORTIFIED!!
Earth song was a classic. A friend and I studied Jacko as a composers topic. We spend HOURS comiling a video about him. And look how he turned out! Hmmmm.
