GBH 1 witness/2 witness
Update for anyone that has helped me in the past or interested in my case. After 3 years my case was finally heard, the victim got himself another witness to attend court last minute hence the 1 witness/2 witness in the title. The CPS paid for their first witness to come all the way from Austrailia but Unfortunitly for them they still lost the case. I was acquitted without even having to take the stand.
1 last question, if the victim was to get another witness could I be tried for again or is this case finally closed?

The Criminal Justice Act 2003 included provision for a second trial for some serious offences (but not GBH) if “new and compelling” evidence had come to light. The retrial must be approved by the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Court of Appeal. The new arrangements came into force in April 2005.
