NIKE ... top sports goods manufacturer.

NIKE sponsor Paula Radcliffe, top OLYMPIC athlete.

NIKE sponsor Mo Farah, top OLYMPIC athlete.

NIKE ... The Edge.

NIKE ... Make It Count.

Remember that NIKE are not an OLYMPIC sponsor.

When you see the word OLYMPICS, do not think NIKE.

Think of someone else altogether.

Remember, NIKE and the OLYMPICS are not strictly connected.

Although a lot of OLYMPIC athletes will be running in NIKE shoes in the OLYMPICS.

Remember, when you think OLYMPICS, do not think NIKE.

Am I mistaken, or do they employ children to produce their goods?

Bottom line ...

I'm a bit disappointed at the way the Olympic Organising Committee had basically sold the whole event to the highest bidders ... to the total exclusion of everyone else.

So I was quite amused to see a Twitter poll in which the sports brand most associated with the Olympics is ... NIKE

Amused ... why?

Because NIKE are not a sponsor. One of NIKE's rivals has paid £100m to be an official sponsor.

All I can say is ... failcake!

And remember ... try not to associate NIKE and the OLYMPICS.

Here, for the avoidance of doubt, is the connection that you must not make ...

NIKE ... OLYMPIC GAMES

NIKE ... OLYMPIC GAMES

NIKE ... OLYMPIC GAMES

NIKE ... OLYMPIC GAMES

NIKE ... OLYMPIC GAMES

NIKE ... OLYMPIC GAMES

NIKE ... OLYMPIC GAMES

NIKE ... OLYMPIC GAMES

NIKE ... OLYMPIC GAMES

NIKE ... OLYMPIC GAMES

That should do it.

Now, nobody will associate NIKE with the OLYMPICS.
who is this Mike fellow?

Not sure I particularly associate the Olympics with any kit manufacturer and I tend to buy kit that suits the purpose of the sport I'm going to do. Mo Farah was obliged to change his sponsor when he changed coach, as his coach has a contractural obligation to Nike. My favourite athlete at the moment is Perry Shakes Drayton, and she is sponsored by Nike, but this doesn't make me want to rush out and buy their kit. I do understand that buying some kit will not make me run run a track as fast as she does.
I'm not sure that eating piles of McDonalds (another Olympic sponsor) will get me into the GB team either.

The marketing boys at Nike just had another bonus
HOTTER isn't an OLYMPIC SPONSOR either (other brands of reasonably priced comfortable shoes are available)
Question Author
I just had a look at the HOTTER website ...

hottershoes.com

ROLEX ARE not THE OFFICIAL OLYMPIC WATCH

SONY ARE not THE OFFICIAL OLYMPIC AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT

NOKIA ARE not THE OFFICIAL OLYMPIC MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE

Ooh, now I really fancy a Burger King.

It must be BURGER KING's non ASSOCIATION WITH THE OLYMPICS.

And a PEPSI MAX.

canary ... we are just clarifying the situation here, LOL
I think I may use my MASTERCARD to buy a ROLEX so that I can keep an eye on the time whilst I'm jogging to BURGER KING in my NIKE trainers - remembering all the while that absolutely none of these estimable companies are OFFICIAL OLYMPIC SPONSORS.
