old dance tune

I can remember a song that i used to have on an old dance cassette which ive lost. The song wasn't a well known song, early 90s a man sung it it had loads of piano tunes in the background and the words were" she was my lover from the start ,now she's gone she's broke my heart" or something similar to that effect.

anybody get any clues? ill be very grateful thanks xx
