cheesy early 80's pop song in french

For a year now we have all been trying to find the name of a fast pop song from the early 80's , we have a few names floating about ... but nothing concrete .All we could remember was the words were in french may have been "Sa blanc en noir" .. also Trio ??? Really really struggling with this one . Any help or clues are extremely grateful Levi

Agree with diddy, that's the first song I thought of when I read the question. I remember phoning London's Capital Radio from a payphone in my school's reception area and asking them to play it and dedicate it to all my mates. Had no idea what Plastic was on about, still don't, although I recognise in the lyrics he has a cat called Splash!

Think he was actually Belgian. Play it and then play Jet Boy, Jet Girl by The Damned. Not sure which one came first.

Yes it was by the Belgian Plastic Bertrand - the B side was called Pogo Pogo.

Trio had a song in 1982 called Da Da Da.. The rumour ( not true) was that it was written by a German music professor to show how bad modern music was - it was released and became a hit. Small casio keyboards would play the beat to this as their demo song at the time. Trio were quite big in Germany but did not make it anywhere else except for this awful song.

plastic bertrand was FABulous! tartan trousers and blonde hair. I used to sing along to this and have only now found out what i was singing! thanks Golem!
