Hi all again,

Still trying to figure out the strat sound. I thought it must be the pick ups, but now see that there is a strat with a humbucker. Has anyone heard one, does it sound like a hank marvin sounding strat? I mentioned in an earlier posting that I was having a quick strum/playabout when the singer walked in and said " thats a strat if ever i heard one " it was a squire strat, £ 35 with amp, a bit cheaply made.but great guitar to play. so, does the humbucker affect the early strat sound?

The traditional Strat sound is achieved with single coil. Some Strats, HSS, are available with a Humbucker in the bridge position to fatten the sound but if you're looking for the "old" Hank sound stick with single and plenty of vibraro!

Yes, I am told it will fatten the sound, unless you have a coil tap, as humb has 2 coils
