Mad World- By that guy who did it recently Gary Jules? And it got christmas no.1 i don't believe it , it was a rubbish cover
Whiter Shade of Pale - brilliant, but causes instant depresion.
Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor. Just thinking about it makes me depressed!

For me it has to be "I'm not in love" by 10 CC

Everybody Hurts by REM or Everyday Is Like Sunday by Morrisey.
Most things by Leonard Cohen.
You're Gone, by Del Amitri (other than music that reminds me of somthing specific)
A couple of interesting choices here! 10cc's I'm Not In Love? Read between the lines - he clearly IS in love, but just doesn't want to admit it. One of those "men having trouble showing emotion" songs. It never pays to take 10cc lyrics at face value! :-)

I don't find R.E.M's Everybody Hurts depressing at all, quite the opposite in fact. I think the sentiment of the lyrics is very touching, and meant to be comforting in sad times. Still, each to their own.

Personally, anything by Westlife, Gareth Gates or Geri Halliwell depresses the bejabers out of me.
Sing something simple - Sunday nights as a kid ready to slip the noose round my neck - aaaargh its all coming back.

chris de burger - lady in red.

just reminds me of school disco's when no girl would dance with me...... boo hoo!

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald....maybe not of *all* time, but truly a depressing song.  Particularly the part when the cook comes on deck and says "fellas, it's been good to know ya."
fast car by tracy chapman.  almost everyone i know has cried their eyes out to this song.
hmm there's lots that spring to mind. Most of all Everybody Hurts by R.E.M and What's this life for? by Creed
Seasons In The Sun by Terry Jacks.  Induces vomiting before the depression sets in!

Two Beds and a Coffee Machine by Savage Garden listen to the lyrics its very depressing, but beautifully sung.

Heavens knows Im miserable now by The Smiths.  Also yes Sinead O'Connor does depress me.  I agree anything by Leonard Cohen.  Also anything by Celine Dion.

Axel F - Crazy Frog
Damien Rice - Cannon ball

I hung my Head

By Johnny Cash.
