do catholics like left handed people?

i ask this because when i was young i went to a catholic nursery.

I am naturaly left handed. however in my nursery they forced me to write with my right hand when they saw i was using my left.

no i am older i find my self using my hands for different things. . . .  .

left hand . . .

guitar, snooker, boxing, kicking, throwing, catching.

right hand, using comp mouse, badmington, writing.

does my head in. my friend told me this was becauise my nursery was catholic. they see it as influence from the devil if you are left handed. any insight on this crazy question.

There has long been a link between 'left handedness' and evil forces! The word "senestre" meaning left is linked to the word "sinister" and being left handed means that you are clearly in league with Beelzebub...

Well I'm left handed & left footed, but am glad to say I'm non of those on that list Waldo!

I remember people trying to make me write right handed, but it didn't work! Mum & Dad taught me to eat right handed with a knife & fork, but I can still only use a spoon with my left hand.

used to be common, even normal, for left-handed children to be forced to use their right hands; wasn't particularly faith-based. I'm surprised that kind of nonsense still goes on anywhere.

This sort of thing will go on until we stop believing in things and having faith in ideas.  We should be teaching children the facts that are known, not outdated nonsense about superstitions and hocus pocus

Justineo it doesn't happen now in schools.  my son goes to s catholic school and they would never try to make a child write with his right hand if he was left handed. 

When my Dad went to school he was rapped on the knuckles with a ruler (by a nun) to stop him writing with his left hand, he's ambidextrous (if thats how you spell it) now but will still always use his left hand.

It is outdated now izzymem, but that was rife amongst non catholics as well, but it no doubt was passed on when the protestants were formed,( They came from the catholics),  and the religions that formed from the protestants kept all of the beliefs and superstitions as well.  Than goodness people have come to their senses.

weird! I'm left handed too but had a strict Italian father who thankfully didn't seem to mind! Thank gawd!

This is (sadly) the main reason for King George VI having an almost incurable stutter! He was born left handed (in approx 1895) and was forced,by various means that we now think barbarous,to use his right hand.When you think left hand is controlled by right brain, and vice versa,forcing a child to be right handed can lead to all sorts of complications!

It does make you wonder mystress, my sister is also left handed & had the most terrible stammer until her teens.

I am also a corrected leftie my mother is a Catholic I don't know if that matters. I think I am glad though since left handed people are more likely to be inmates of prisons or mental hospitals and on average live 5 years less than right handed people.

 Oddly I can't use scissors with my right hand.

I went to a Roman Catholic primary, and they made me write with my right hand - until my dad stormed up to the school and told them off! Go dad!

The teachers told me being left handed was a sign of the devil or of witchcraft. Charming eh?
