Here's my Christmas Poem for you
Tell It As It Is.
"Let's have a party. A big one" said the man,
"Hire a hall, and a band, Just follow my plan -
A tree, Santa Claus, trimmings - the lot -
Beer and wine flowing, food of course - why not,
Turkey and stuffing, veg by the ton'
Pudding and mince pies, 'twill be lots of fun."
"So how will you pay for this lovely affair?
Alas" said the wife "there's no change there,
Just pie in the sky and you and me and the dog".
"We could charge a small fee, t'would be worth it" said he,
"Oh shut up" said the wife "for goodness sake get a life
Any friends that remain have their own Christmas party,
Accept what we have - you and me and dog 'Arty',
The usual stuff - I'll be cooking the food,
While you're down the pub getting right in the mood
For eating and drinking all you can scrounge,
And after the dinner asleep in the lounge.
