Lookin for band and song title please! (again)

Does anyone know what song this is the opening line to?:

'You and me babe, riding down that crazy road again.'

There's a line in the chorus: 'Back then we were living on coffee and hope'.

Upbeat piano rock song, which reminds me a bit of Hothouse Flowers.

I am also looking to find the name of that song. It was written by a guy who played in the Oyster bar in Leith Street, Edinburgh in the late eighties/early nineties. Me and my beau used to go and see him every week. His sister is the comedienne Viv Gee. That's all I can remember
