One of his last gigs is at Robin 2's Bilston, reading an article in the local paper earlier ( Express and Star ) Ticket touts have snapped up a lot of the tickets and are selling them at greatly inflated prices. Shame on them.

Heard an interview with him yesterday morning on R4 and was quite moved, especially the way he spoke of his late wife. I saw them once and they remain who I'd say is the best live band I've ever seen.

I Played on the bill at Seale Hayne College Summer Ball Wilko was on the bill ,he was incredible the feeling on stage was electric,Alex Harvey Band we also on the same bill ,he died a short time after .Much respect to Wilco ,these TOUT's disgusting miserable parasites ,may they ROT.

Just shows what I know Ludwig - Must admit, I thought wilco was still in the band when they released Milk and Alcohol. Good day then - learnt something new :)

I saw the band in 1975 at Reading Festival, and again on tour that autumn in Manchester, and to this day I have yet to see a band get a better reception as they came on stage (and I have seen a LOT of bands!).

I have always loved everything about them - the choppy knuckle-playing style Wilko uses, the way he moves on stage as though he is plugged in, not the guitar, Lee Brilleux's chewing his mouth between lines, as though he is speeding (maybe he was!) and the solid engine room of Sparko and The Big Figure - how cool is that for a drummer's name. They were honest and real at a time when punk was a fashion statement, and I am seriously sad that Wilko will not be with us much longer.
