So Brassed Off
I had flights booked to go to Dublin this morning for tonight's Linfield v Shamrock Rovers game, but my other half was ill starting on Saturday afternoon, and continuing well into yesterday, throwing up everything she had eaten, even the odd drink of water.
Mercifully, things improved late last night and I thought I was back on for the game again. Then, at about 03:00 this morning, an "Exorcist" like projectile vomiting arrived and I was utterly floored, lying in the WC hugging the bowl for far too long. I have never had anything like this in my life before, and even water was flying up again while I was doing all the actions although I had nothing left to give. My ribs and abdominal muscles ache but, worst of all, I'm missing a big, big game for us.
I am, in a word or two, p1ssed off.

Fine now, apart from the aching abs and the lost money, not to mention the thrashing we took last night. I also missed meeting up with my old Limerick supporting, Dublin-based buddy but, as you say, it was a dreadful night all round for the Irish League.
About two or three hours after winning it against Derry City last year Stephen Baxter was sitting holding the Cup and said, "We'll probably be the last Irish League team to win this". He may well be right.
