Can anyone enlighten me as to what the U2 court case is all about, is it as trivial as it appears to be.

It's about their stylist from the late 80's, who has sought to sell things like a Stetsun hat and other items that she says were given her by the band during the Joshua Tree tour. The says the items were not given to her, they were stolen and she has tried to blackmail them with revelations about them in a book. I think the items may appear trivial (although Bono claims they are "iconic" - not like him to overstate the issue), but this is more a matter of principle for the band, that someone they trusted has abused that trust.
