Ann, is it your birthday ?.
For me it was Coz I Luv You, Gypsies Tramps and Thieves, Where's Your Mama Gone and I'd Like to Teach The World to Sing, so I guess I'm a little younger

No Tony, not my birthday until November, it's just that I found myself singing a couple of these this week ........ reverting back to my youth maybe? ;) Wishful thinking!
i remember those, however i also remember songs from the 1900s upwards, and i ain't that old.
We must be of a similar age Ann

Nothing wrong with that Ann. I often do that on mamya's goodnight threads.
ooga ooga
Was that the start of Hooked on a Feeling, jno?
My early teenage years included the songs Rio, True, Tainted Love, Don't you want me baby, Ghost Town, I don't like Mondays.
...or was it by The Archies
The Singing Nun.
Dominic anica nica
this one, factor... though the transcription is my own as I don't speak Chippewa

'Where your Mama Gone' was the favourite, no, make that only song the Chinese waiters knew when I worked in a Chinese restaurant.
God, how I hate that song. :-)
I should add, that was the only line from the only song they knew.
ah, Tilly, the only song on the hit parade to praise the Albigensian genocide

A l'époque ou Jean-sans-Terre
D'Angleterre etait le Roi
Dominique, notre Pere,
Combattit les Albigeois

I always that was called Running Bare.

I do remember all those, Ann (except for the ladder one)- in the 1970s I used to listen avidly to the oldies on the Golden Hour and Jimmy Saville's old chart show
Get back, The Beatles
Spirit in the sky, Norman Greenbaum.
Proud Mary, Credence Clearwater Revival.
incidentally, if you look up the Singing Nun's life story it was quite tragic... left the nunnery to promote birth control, pursued by the government for tax arrears (the nunnery had taken all her royalties), died in a suicide pact with her female lover.
Oh, that is sad, jno. I had no idea.

Here it is Factor - sung by Carol Deene in 1962. Can't help myself belting out all the words even now!
