I have an iPod and had nearly 1000 songs on my computer my my computer crashed and i lost them all.
Is there anyway of transferring the songs on my iPod onto my computer without iTunes updating my iPod and deleting all the songs on there?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If you enter iTunes and chose one the option bars at the top of the page (not sure which one it is sorry as comp not on me - it might be tools?) there is an option to change your ipod settings. Click on the "manually update" button. This will prevent iTunes from erasing your songs and you can also change them to mp3 format and save them all on one disc as backup.
You can try Tansee iPod Transfer which can backup songs and videos in iPod to PC, copy iPod songs and videos to new ipod, computer or notebook.

You need third party software to help you copy music from iPod back to comptuer, because iTunes couldn't help you do that. I have been using this iPod transfer to copy my iPod files back to computer for a long time, it works really nice for me. Here is a step by step guide about how to copy songs from iPod to PC
