Can anybody work out how the chaser come to offer what money he does. I can understand the lower amount but is there any connection on what his top offers are

depends on lots of things, if they have a lot in the bin the bottom ones will be negative and the top not as good, if they have a little then the top offer will be a lot. They also tend to offer what would be a round figure when divided between those left if they make it back. Thats usually the last player. eg if there are 2 people back with 6k then he'll offer the last one 24k so they'd get 10k each for example. I often wonder what would happen if they all took the highest offer and got through, I suspect the higher offer would be only slightly more than the middle and the lower offer very negative indeed!
Also Mark Labbett pronounces thousand as 'fousand'. It sounds really thick.
Apart from making the total pot a round number, maybe the producer takes into account the chaser's form at the time of recording.
dave50, yes ive noticed that as well, annoys me.
Its not just thousand, I've noticed other words as well.
Wasn't yesterday's team brilliant?
if they backed themselves tall could have gone back with the high amount.
