There I was sitting doing my tapestry when the sky went black and the rain came down. I've had to put it away. I can't see a thing. I refuse to put the light on in the middle of the day, so I've resorted to AB.

Turn up the brightness settings on your lappy, tilly - ta-da! Then when your eyes adjust to the new lightsource carry on with the tapestry :)
i like having the lights on, makes it all cosy

As a matter of interest, why do you refuse to put the light on during the day? I've never heard that one before.

Tilly, I have been driven in from the garden so I am floodlighting the sewing room to finish the black curtains..... :-(

ClaryS It is such a waste of electricity, having lights on in the daytime.
Gness, those curtains are taking a while. Have you nearly finished them?
Lots of black curtains, Tilly...and most of it by hand...bit anal about curtains and how they hang. This is the last one which has been waiting while the garden got sortedish in the summer...but looks like indoor weather has arrived...x

These are, Tilly....dining room...small window and patio doors. The sitting room ones are black with a dramatic goldish pattern...I'm fond of black. ☻

The lights don't go on until I fall over the cat.
Tilly, Alexander Graham Bell invented the light bulb just to prevent you from falling over your cat. Now turn the light on and his life won't have been wasted :0)
