Did I Imagine This Pop Song?
6 Answers
Hi Everyone,
I recently heard Mozart's Rondo Alla Turca and when it got to the "chorus" I launched into song with a couple of lines of words that fitted perfectly until they ran out and I resorted to la-las. I can't remember what the pop song that I was singing might be nor who might have recorded it. Or have I imagined it? The words I sang are:
Looking back on my childhood
I seem to cross an ocean,
To a time la-la-la etc
I've googled it and found nothing to help.
Can any of you knowledgeable people help me out here please?
Thank you in anticipation.

I have had a hunt round the web but can find a vocal version of that tune anywhere. There are web sites that list classical tunes that have been turned into pop songs but none of them list that tune.

You didn't imagine the song, it was by James Horne and was called 'Love Motion', released in 1971 on the RAK labwl (Mickie Most, if you remember him). It wasn't a hit but I remember it well from Radio Luxembourg, and it's on Youtube so go and enjoy it! https:/ /youtu. be/CBW3 we6cvsk Media URL: https://youtu.be/CBW3we6cvsk
