Good Party Venues In Brighton

Well the title says it all.

I'm turning 18 this October,and i'm looking for a venue to hold a party in Brighton,but i can't think of a good place to hold a party.Can anyone suggest where?

A place that has music,can hold up to 100 people perhaps and serves drinks?

If your friends have not reached 18 yet there will be a problem. Brighton and Hove sem to have the strictest door policy anywhere.

A good hall for hire is the upstairs at The Biscuit Factory in Hove (actually) on Church Road. Used to be The Nantucks Tavern.

Also do i get an invite as I live very close????

But thanks for the suggestions,i'll check it out.And i know some friends won't be 18 by then.But if they're drinking inside with responsible adults to look over they've gotta be able to let us drink.What ARE the rules for teenage drinking anyways?

Yes the Biscuit Factory is a good one, there are of course all those seafront clubs and bars to choose from, I went to a good party at the Tzar Bar http://ultimatepubguide.com/pubs/info.phtml?pub_id=289 which has a sepeate room for private parties.

Rules for under 18 drinkers.....  well

Brighton and Hove have a no-booze policy on the streets for ANY age. Therefore you can't even have a drink on the beach legally.

Under 18's can drink in private what they like unless they are looking after a minor. That's a child not a coal worker. Drunk in charge of a minor is arrestable.

You CAN'T be drunk and disordrerly in private but certain public order offences apply to private. WEIRD or what. A private place can be public however if the public can or have ready access. Therefore a private club can be public. EVEN WEIRDER.

You can technically drink in a pub under 18 if the room does not contain a bar. i.e pool rooms etc. But most landlords would not allow this. This is a stated case.

You can drink from 14yrs in a pub if you are eating with over 18yr olds. But this applies to Perry, cider and Port only.

You can be in a bar (at landlords descretion) at any age as long as accompanied by an adult.

In all circumstances only 18+ can buy booze.

It is an offence for them (and the kiddo who sneakily drinks it)  to buy it for under 18's unless above conditions apply.

Where'd you get the info about private parties?If you hired out like a hall or a conference room in a hotel,would that constitute as a private party?

At a  private party you can drink what you like providing alcohol is not sold. I.e a crappy church hall my advice get p*ssed BUT bring your own!!!

Just remembered about Corals (next to the dog stadium) on Nevil Road have quite a nuce hall for hire. Loadsa parking too. Bit away from town center but you aint going out afterwards are you?

Sorry for the late reply,but i thought i'd found a place willing to do my type of party: the Ocean Rooms but then they backed out and screwed me over and now i'm maaaaaaad!

Now i can't be bothered with clubs/bars etc.I'm going old fashioned private hall for hire.

You mentioned the Corals?How big is the hall?And any other halls for suggestion?
