Samsung Sh855M Recorder/player
1 Answers
Hi,
I have a samsung SH855M record/player. I have connected it to my technika tv 25-56D.All connections are correct. I have seen in the dvd manual that there is not a code for my tv, and i have looked everywhere but cannot find one. If i do find one what buttons would i have to operate to put code into tv. The tv remote manual says that the tv remote only works with this tv. Would a univeral remote work. I cannot access the input select on the dvd remote without it. I can get into the menu on the dvd remote and go to channels and do an auto scan, then it says your receiver has found 95 tv channels and 24 radio channels, i then click ok. When i then go to the guide it only shows tv1-5 channels, and no freeview one. If i go back into auto scan again and select all then it finds the freeview ones, but then a window comes up and says channels not memorised, check aerial and tv connections,no signal. I assume it has not stored them. Everytime i switch the dvd player off i have to do this procedure all over again. did manage to set a timer recorder but the disk kept opening the draw and shutting down. It did not say this disk cannot be recorded or played on, it was a Maxell make, needless to say that did not work either. Please help. I am a 62 year old female without any technical knowledge, and at the end of my patience.
thanks

It is not necessary to program your DVD remote to operate your TV - just use the DVD remote to operate to DVD and the TV remote to operate the TV.
When you turn off the DVD recorder do you use the remote or do you switch off the power at the wall socket? - you only need to power off with the remote or the standby/off button on the front of the DVD recorder. That could be why you are losing your channels.
The recorder has a built-in hard disc - why are you attempting to record on a DVD disc? You must be doing that or the tray would not open.
