gladys knight and iggy pop two good suggestions

how about ozzy. mr crowley?

any more post them up!
'Money for Nothing' by Dire Straits.
Not that I'm a fan but it's a cracking intro.

the o'jays, backstabbers! the intro starts with a bare piano and builds into a brilliant vocal. angie stone sampled it in i wish i did'nt miss you anymore for all you young un's...

Without a shadow of doubt it has to be David Bowie's "Absolute Beginners"

Ba dum Ba ba ba dum. I've nothing much to offer, There's nothing much to take...............

Quite brilliant.

these are my fave intros...

..what difference does it make - the smiths..

..dancing queen - abba...

...seven seas of rhye - queen..

..atomic - blondie...

..hotel california - the eagles..

..blue monday - new order..

..she sells sanctuary - the cult

..lovecats - the cure..

..whiskey in the jar - thin lizzy

...whole lotta love - led zeppelin

..sweet child o' mine - guns n roses..

..club tropicana - wham!..  (you gotta love this one lol!)

...get it on - t-rex..

..all along the watchtower - jimi hendrix

..cross town traffic - jimi hendrix

...voodoo chil - hendrix again!

..perfect day - lou reed

..bittersweet symphony - the verve

..champagne supernova- oasis.

..riders on the storm - the doors...

sorry bit of a long list there, but it sure is an assortment

I'l bet no-one else knows this one!

'Astronomy', Blue Oyster Cult.

Also : 'Black Velvet', Alannah Miles, 'Inside', Stiltskin, just about anything from ZZTop, etc etc, wow, I can think of loads!

My favour intro is from The New Radicals - you only get what you give.  Its Cool.

Rush - Spirit Of Radio   - its the most complete rock song ever.
The Only ones Another - 'Girl Another Planet'
The Smiths- 'The Queen Is Dead'
Joy Division -'Love Will Tear Us Apart'
Radiohead- 'You do It To Yourself'
Any more?
Stone Roses were the intro Kings.
crikey ermintrude35, talk about raining on everyone else's parade :-)  Definite

argh, the gremlins strike again!

Definite favourite is Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns n Roses. Certainly one of the most recognisable!

Echo Beach - Martha & the Muffins .
Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty...........has to be the best ever

Ian Dury & The Blockheads - Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick.

Steve Miller Band - Fly Like An Eagle

and with Jampot on my next........gotta be Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street.

Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones should be up there.
