A couple of weeks ago my granddaughter sang with the Chamber Choir at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and the Halle Orchestra. On Wednesday, she played at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham at the National Festival of Music for Youth. In November she will be with the Chamber Choir again, singing at the Royal Albert Hall. Really exciting for her. It will be a proud moment for all. Sorry for bragging but she's only 9. She's really excited.

Feel free to brag, what a wonderful achievement for your granddaughter. That is very good for someone aged nine.
That is amazing. She must be very talented. I don't blame you for being proud... luck to her xx
Very understandable that she is really excited, 10ClarianSt. Quite an achievement and only 9 years old.
^^Oops. That did say "good" luck to her!
Great 10Clarion, I used to sing in the school choir, and we sang at a few venues. Leeds Town Hall was my home town and my whole family turned up to watch. I would have been about 9/10 years old too. Wonderful feeling and something I haven't forgotton.

A Superstar in the making?
great experience for her
It's nice to know that young music-makers get some support from their families. Unfortunately, it's not always the case. I was at the Royal Festival Hall a few weeks ago when a youth orchestra, made up of young players from London and the West Midlands, was giving a free performance. There were 150 performers, so based upon an average of 1 parent per child, plus some adoring grandparents, etc, I would have expected to see at least 200 family members supporting them. In fact the only adults with the youngsters were about 20 teachers and perhaps just 15 people who appeared to be family members :(
Grandchildren Should be bragged about!
