Also not sure where to post this!

I run an office for a company of 50 staff in Colchester and am desperately trying to organise our Christmas party - you would think I had got in early enough but no - all ideas going wrong, Harry's Bar closed, the Embassy Suite being taken over and Wivenhoe House Hotel are doing no Fridays or Saturdays!

Can anyone suggest a good Christmas party venue in the Colchester area? We would ideally like a mixture between a sit down meal with dancing and music after...

Last year we had ours at the Holiday Inn, Eight Ash Green.  They gave us two rooms, one for eating (food was not bad) and in next door was a room was for dancing.  We had to bring our own music and sound system (a bit sad I know) but it turned out to be a good evening after the wine started flowing.  I know it's not exactly what you are after but it may be worth a look.  Good luck in your search!
thank you for your imput into my question, however the recipient was a sibling not an ex. So Im affraid your advice was useless.
i was going to say try the holiday inn!
Try the ha ha bar and canteen on the high street. they can cater for over 50 and have whole areas which you can reserve as your own. (an upstairs floor all to yourself). Really nice fresh food and great service. A reccomended place indeed. I had my own xmas function there last year. On a Friday and Saturday they have classic tunes on Fridays and housey dance dj on saturday. Probably better on a friday. Hope this helps.
