I've just bought "In The Heart of The Moon" which is an album of duets by Ali Farka Toure (guitar) and Toumani Diabate (kora). Recorded in a mobile studio on the banks of the Niger river.
I cannot describe how incredible this music is! Improvisation. Don't you just love it?
Incidently, a kora is like a cross between a harp and a banjo.

Last one I bought was the new Super Furry Animals album.
It's a bit of a grower - not as immediate as some of their other stuff but I like it more and more...

Sadly my tastes aren't diverse enough to be familiar with the stuff you mention!
Snap, stevie21! Got it yesterday and haven't had time to hear it yet.

Albums that grow on you are the best though aren't they?
Got more staying power.
Last one i bought was tha Kasabian album, and it's the most i've played an album since the heady days of The Stone Roses original.

I've just bought 19 CDs at once in a sale at my local library:

Whiskeytown-Faithless Street; Money Mark-Change is Coming; Rolling Stones-Sticky Fingers; All Saints; Wilco- Summerteeth; Yoshimatsu-Symphony no 4; Idlewild- The Remote Part; Supergrass- In it For The Money; Ben Folds Five; Teenage Fanclub- Howdy!; Ron Sexsmith; Radiohead- Kid A; Screen Cuts; Royksopp- Melody AM; Paul McCartney- Run Devil Run; PJ Harvey- Stories From The City...; Dandy Warhols- Come Down, and Train- Drops of Jupiter. (last two not for me!)

All for....19!

Good work jamesy. You've definitely done well with Royksopp.
The Quadrophenia soundtrack. Had to replace it as someone had scratched my old Quadrophenia CD to bits!

jamesy - well done.  Sticky Fingers is an good one.  Let It Bleed (if you can lay your hands on it) is an absolute classic.
Similarly with Teenage Fanclub.  Howdy is good, but Grand Prix is cracking.
PJ Harvey is also good - her song "Down By The Water" from a different album is cool.

johntheplamf - I'll leave you to Kasabian.  I think they're overrated.  What you really want to be listening to is classy stuff like this !

Aye, very good, Couldn't have described myself any better. You really do want to try Kasabian, I wasn't too kean til i heard the full album.
