Well, strictly speaking it's there, in 'The Cloud' waiting to be downloaded. I'm not sure whether to be impressed by the technology or worried at the invasion of privacy.

Easier than that, just click the iPod button at bottom of screen and loom for U2 under artists.
It is an interesting point for discussion, U2 are harmless but theoretically wouldn't be so if you find propaganda or subversive literature there in the future - purely hypothetical devils' advocate comment.

That's what I was alluding to Prudie. Quite scary in principle. Knowing U2 I've no doubt some of their tunes on the album are of a political nature.
so what's the diff between this and free newspapers in cafes and pubs?
There isn't one woof but there again it's not much different from dropping leaflets from a plane either.

Just looked in Music on my iPad and iPhone and there it is. Don't think I'll bother to download it though.

I like it but, as has been pointed out, I'm a fan anyway.

I think that DangerMouse has done what Brian Eno did for them in the 80s.
Excuse me for name-dropping here - I interviewed Mr Difford and Mr Tilbrook on Saturday - fine writers and musicians both, and Mr Difford opined that - having heard the new U2 album, he could perfectly understand why they were giving it away!!
Every time I click my fingers, somebody deletes the new U2 album from their aye phone.
I impressive way to rekindle a stalled career.

I have already delete mine from my iTunes Library.
Unimpressed by the tech, it should be fairly simple to download/upload stuff.

I think it is a *** cheek to add to someone's library without their permission though (although no doubt something in the small print no one reads and simply agrees to will allow it legally). That said it, for this incident it is a storm in a teacup. One can delete it, although ought not be left having to if they don't want it. Would have been simple enough to make it available as a free download for those who wanted it.

Unsure if it is a marketing error due to the ill feeling it has caused or a success given the publicity. I suppose it depends on how badly U2 have been doing of late, not that they need more money surely.

As for whether it indicates potential worse invasion of privacy, I've not looked into it far enough to know.
I think it's an abuse of privacy but no doubt iphone users have permitted it somewhere in the very small print - the only reason that I can think of that they've done it, is to boost their sales ratings (even though it's free).
I see folk here are saying one has to download it. That's not what the news items were telling me. It was saying everyone has it already in their library like it or not.
What the hell got starred out there ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

damn

awful
I guess no one is allowed to put up a post about the *** Tower then, or talk of an accident with *** injuries.
This place is getting worse.
