Help - s'posed to be going to India to visit my mum in November, It has really crept up on me fast, what do I need to do before I go and how long will it take? Step one I know is: Renew Passport. What about jabs and Visa?

If you can get to London OK and don't mind a spot of queueing, you can sort your visa in a day. Altrnatively, you can pay a travel agent to sort it for you but all they do is pay a courier to go and queue for you so you might as well do it yourself. As far as jabs, you can go overboard getting all kinds like rabies and encephalitis etc but depending on where you are going etc, you could get away with the basics. If you're going to start with the malaria tablets then they need sorting a while before you go too.
