A Q earlier made me think, what if we just narrowed it down to Christmas.
Do you like full on Schmaltz, a bit of comedy, pathos or a weepie?
I know most seem to combine all of those, but hey-ho (or ho ho ho), it's just a bit of fun and may give us all some Ideas to shut the bleedin' relatives up for a bit.

My favourites, the most favourite at the top and then the order I remember them:

Elf
Gremlins
Miracle on 34th Street (Dickie Attenborough version)
It's a Wonderful Life
The Santa Clause
Nativity
Life of Brian

I want films about Christmas, not films they show at Christmas. I will blow a raspberry at the first person to mention the Sound of Music.

I used to like comedy Batman Talbot. I'm not sure about him when he can't offload a bomb onto a shark.
Yeah, West was the best!
It's often on the Christmas channel Frognog, it's really very moving about a family in US that stopped celebrating Xmas since they got the news that their son had been killed in Iraq on Xmas eve - then one year the dad picks up a hitchhiker, I won't spoil the rest ;-)
