Ipod And Itunes

I have an iPod Nano...had it a couple years or so but it has been in hibernation for a while...have just got it out ,still works fine...but I have forgotten how to use iTunes with it.
The ipod is showing up and the contents but can`t play them on iTunes,plus Also,I purchased an album from the Apple Store,...how do I put it onto the iPod.

Have completely forgotten how it all works,,s.o a bit of help please

Does it show in iTunes?

You should be able to click on it in iTunes, then click on Music and select the tracks or albums or even artists to put onto it, then click sync

I am back and have still not found my around the workings of iTunes.
I bought an album,it is showing in what I have purchased and all the songs on it.
Where do I go from there and how do I download onto my iPod???
