During the busy ABBA years, the members were all adamant that ABBA would only continue so long as it was fun for them. As time went on, the members became interested in activities outside of the group. Frida recorded her first English solo album, Agnetha began the work on a leading roll in a Swedish feature movie, whilst Bjorn and Benny began writing their musical later titled "Chess" together with Tim Rice.

ABBA activities were officially put on hold whilst the members pursued these activities. But as time progressed, and since the internal relationships had changed, it seemed that none of them had the motivation to get back together again. ABBA never officially announced they would not work together again but in fact never did.

ABBA�s last records were the compilation "ABBA The Singles - The First Ten Years" and the single "Under Attack". Their last public appearances together were in November 1982.
