If Music Is For Everyone, Why Theteasing?

I know I've posted this subject a lot, but it just really does not make sense!
Why the Teasing? Why are there fan bases not more neutral (balanced)?
Why do TV shows/movies/media only show their primary fan gender and teases the other gender for liking it?

Not really aware of any teasing large scale - maybe I watch the wrong programmes.

I have never been a sheep, always liked what I liked regardless of trend or peer pressure.

Maybe you are not a victim of it, but have you not seen the hate on JB/boy bands? Whenever males admit their approval they get their sexual orientation questioned (same if they liked with female singers). You mean you never realized this anywhere?

no not seen it...who expresses the hate/questions the sexuality? Is this the same "everybody" who says that boys shouldn't have videos of The Little Mermaid? and why do you care so much?

No , I haven't come across it , I have had friends snort derisively 'you don't like him/her/them do you' - bothers me not one bit.


In life we need to learn to trust our own judgement and cease to fret about whether everyone else approves.

Set the trend. don't feel obliged to follow it.

@woofgang It goes back to what you said: Marketing Intent! It's what the marketer intended to make the music appeal to female. So of course, a male associating himself with this kind of stuff just seems rather unusual and out of place to everyone.

How can you deny that people raise eyebrows when they see stuff like this happens? They would tease the other gender for associating himself/herself with the other' products.

On the 29th March....."I like music that targets females. Is there something wrong with me?" I'd answer "no" to that question.
Since then, you've asked the same thing several times (slightly different wording)....so, I think that there IS something wrong with you...because this is the only subject that seems to occupy your thoughts.

@Canary42 If were talking friend teasing, that different. meant like hateful teasing: "Ha Ha, your Gay!", "What the heck is wrong with this guy?", "Your Man Card has been Revoked!"

Like if JB/JT/Boy Bands are for everyone, why the hateful teasing? Why do you not see them have a more balanced fan base?

I wouldn't be mixing with those people, if you are trapped with them at work or college, then ignore.

There are hateful folk around, they'll learn as they mature.

There have always been genres and things designed to appeal to a particular group,- that does not debar anyone outside that target base enjoying them.

Have you thought of seeking help for your obsession with this?

@Mamyalynne No! I just wish things weren't set up to only be liked by one gender (or at least, have a more people outside the target gender enjoying their stuff if supposedly, there's nothing wrong).

The more I see an unbalanced audience, the more it makes me questioned whether its okay to be that rare fan.

Well of course if a live concert is filmed and the camera pans the crowd , it will show the audience.

They cannot force a mixed audience through the doors.

@Mamyalynne I guess the only other solution is for people/media/TV shows/media stop ridiculing & referencing people as weirdos if its really okay for a male liking & owning female products, and vice-versa.
