Mini Drill For Bit Of 1Mm

I am looking for a small drill so that I can make 1mm holes. I have seen several but reviews vary from rubbish to excellent. This is for drilling holes in small metal pieces. Hand or battery driven. Any sensible recommendations please?

For drilling such a small hole you need a high-speed tool. I'd suggest a Dremel tool or something similar.

Hand driven? good luck with that.

You will need an electric drill, use very little pressure and take the bit out of the hole frequently.

I agree with stewie go with dremel or pillar drill if money is not a problem and be sure to get a good metal drill bit

Decent cordless drills can be quite expensive. I'd go for a mains drill. Even the cheap DIY drills will be fine for such a light job (assuming the metal is quite thin.)

If it's thick steel, then you'll go through loads of broken bits unless you use a pillar drill of some sort, or even a cheap drill press that can hold a standard electric drill

I would have suggested a Dremel too. But in fairness most hand drills can hold as small a bit as you care to put into them. If a normal sized hand drill proves difficult to handle without bit damage, then I'm sure most hobbyist shops would supply smaller versions.

Thank you for all your help. I mailed dremel who sennt me all the information I needed. Problem now solved.
