I like Faith no More's rendition of war pigs better than Black Sabbaths
Joe Cocker's 'With A Little Help From My Friends' is one end of the scale - Wet Wet Wet's is at the other - and if you ask which is which I'll come round and slap your legs!
Fear Factory's version of Cars. Though Gary Numan did sing on it I think.

Revolver's version of Since Yesterday. Never knew it was a cover.

Sid Vicious - My Way

Marilyn Manson's Sweet Dreams
The original vesion of One Way Love by Cliff Bennett was great. Bryan Ferry's cover was better.

Richard Cheese's rendition of Disturbed's Down with the sickness

Johnny Cash singing 'Hurt' by Nine inch nails

Practically everything Me First And The Gimme Gimmes have covered is better than the originals - also Foo Fighters Baker Street and China Drun Wuthering Heights are faves of mine - I like cover versions, as Mr Hughes knows.

Santa Esmeralda
and
Meco
come to my mind ... some of their covers are better than originals...

Sparks' version of 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' is truly superior to the Beatles' original. Listening closely to the latter, the production is embarrassing (okay, I know it was the 60s!). Sparks really breathed lush new life into it.

All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix

Maybe the greatest cover version ever!

The Gourds' hillbilly boot-stompin', banjo-twangin' version of Gin And Juice knocks Snoop Doggy Dogg's original into a cocked hat any day of the week :-)
Dave Alvin's version of Highway 61 Revisited is far superior than Dylan's original, although, as much as i like Bob, lots of his early songs have been covered better than his versions.
Metallica's version of Whiskey in the Jar is better that Thin Lizzy's. The video rules!!!
'Under the moon of love', written and record by Curtis Lee in 1961, it never  reched the top fifty, and in 1976, Showaddywaddy got to No1 with it.

Eva Cassidy's cover of Sting's FIELDS OF GOLD is my fave I think.

I also -love- Muse's rendition of (it's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me, and I'm) FEELING GOOD.

Kate Bush "Rocket Man"

The Christian's version of "Harvest for the world" better than the Isley brothers version?? You are having a laugh!
The Pogues - Dirty Old Town
Sacrilage I know but I actually prefer Far Corporation's "Stairway To Heaven" to Led Zep's.
Wonderwall by Ryan Adams - the orginal is good but the cover is amazing
