I usually love this programme. Tonight we had the love story between the 90 year old man and wife Violet which was really touching. I also really like Alfie Boe so was at least expecting him to give them tickets for a West End show - instead he dedicated a song to the couple and sang it on the show. Anyone else think the song was just awful? - It was so loud and not a tender love song the old chap would have enjoyed listening to I'm sure - I couldn't even distinguish the words he was singing. Worst song ever from Alfie and he looked in complete pain in his face when singing it too!

I agree it was most inappropriate for the occasion, it was Cool Rain I hadn't heard it before I am sure the gentleman didn't know it either, he could have sang something romantic and nostalgic even We'll meet again would have been lovely!

Totally agree Ann, not a good choice of song at all. However, I am a big fan of Alfie Boe and think he is sex on legs !!

That old gentleman and his granddaughter were lovely.
