I have to teach a singing module at college and have a group of 30- mainly boys and a few girls. I need some ideas of songs we could sing- pop/rock/musicals. Any that feature both voices, and are "cool" enough for a bunch of goth 17 year olds!!!
Many thanks for any ideas!!

Thats the only musical thing I can think of that might appeal just to the gothic quircky side of their personalities. Plus it's fun and most songs are about sex, a surefire winner for teenagers ;)
Or maybe you could use some songs from Once More With Feeling, the musical episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, check online for lyrics, you can buy the episode by itself for about 10 and theres a cd of the songs too. Its fun and has a a few different styles of singing in it. Good Luck, sounds like a fun course :)
How about "Space Oddity" by David Bowie.
In essence it has two major parts. One the spaceman (Major Tom) and two the ground control. There is also the 10-1 countdown at the beginning.
Regarding "coolness". Well, number 9 in 1969, number 1 in 1975 and the B-side to Ashes to Ashes (also number 1) in 1981. Further Bowie has to be the coolest guy ever!!!!
