It's all about context and interpretation.
Hank Williams lived a difficult lonely life and died before he was thirty - a life which is encapsulated in the suffering he could convey in his vocals.
Daniel O'Donnell is an MOR singer who appeals to vast swathes of fans who are not remotely interested in his influences, or experience, they simply like the way he sounds.
So - take a song like Cold Cold Heart, out of which Hank wrings every emotion, and sets the standard country backing for his tortured lyrics to lie on.
Take that same country backing and give it to DO, and it becomes a cheesy MOR plesantfest with no emotion or meaning in it at all - just that nice Irishman with his nice voice singing a nice song.
So I think Danny's fans will love it, and be utterly oblivious to the sentiment and meaning behind it, and Hank's fans will ignore Danny's version for the universe-apart difference that his version is.
