There are two little pre-school sisters live around the corner from me. I met them in the summer with their mother and they made a great fuss of my dog. She returned their attention by licking their hands. Since then when I'm walking past their house they knock the window and wave out.
This morning they came out with their mum and gave me two Christmas gifts, one for the dog and the other for me. A packet of Schmackos for the dog and a bar of chocolate to me.
Have you ever had a gift where the thought really did count?

Yes I have and I think those types of gifts mean so much - often you have given no passing thought to how a small gesture may have been appreciated.

Then the thanks or as you say, a small gift makes it clear you made a difference.
That is lovely!! As you say it is the thought that counts.
Aaww,.....that is so sweet! ;)

Wonderful tale sandy....I guess its what Xmas is really about. Well done !
aaaaaah

and did the dog ear them ?

no not the smackos - the little girls
Yes Sandy, I had similar on Christmas Eve and I'm still smiling.
Lovely. Real Christmas spirit.
I've been feasting on the milk of human kindness for the last few days.

A lady who was married to my Mum's cousin gave me a Christmas Card with £50 in, and a note that said that Mum had helped her out. Then she turned up with the equivalent of a Christmas Hamper of Food (From Tesco), and then another present on Christmas Eve, with Alcohol, Mince Pies, Quality Street, Pringles and a few other bits and pieces in.

She'll be getting a bunch of Flowers delivered in the New Year.
