Another in the list of bands I don't connect with on any level.

I understand that for a generation who did not know psychadelia in the '60's, the Stone Roses sound new and fresh and exciting, but for me, they are a poor re-hash of a bygone era hyped way beyond their pay grade.

Tune in next week when Jamiroquai ensure that Stevie Wonder's entire style is kept alive by releasing another of their pointless re-treads.
I thought it only fair to listen to the single, in case my assessment was out of date - but no, it's still the sound of Syd Barratt-era Pink Floyd!!

I love the Stone Roses stuff, particularly the 1989 album and earlier stuff (Sally Cinnamon etc), but I agree they do sound like some earlier stuff. Here's an example of a Yardbirds track

I'll listen to those Floyd tracks later

I like it and will never forget that they were the first group i saw live in 1989
Crap
How spooky! I was just listening to Ian Brown on Youtube.

Not a bad tune, but, I think their earlier stuff is better. I'm sure it'll get the ravers going though.
Not wonderful - I think they've autotuned some of the flat spots out of Ian Brown's vocal too.

A reminder of what they could sound like ..
