Anyone Watch Coldplay Last Night?
I thought it was fantastic and truly uplifting. Thanks Chris et al, for taking me out of the doldrums.
Wonderful tribute to Viola Beach.

As a music journalist I can objectively see their massive appeal, but on a personal level, I can't do with Chris Martin.
He's like a sixth-former at the end of term dance who has been told he can have a go at singing his adolescent lyrics in his wavery not-quite-grown-up voice, and jig about a bit self-consciously.
What detracts from that image is what an amazing band Coldplay are, but the sound and image is him, and I can't do with him at all.
I know Michel Eavis was a fan from day one, loyalty they repay with shows like last night's, but it doesn't reach me in the slightest.
Never mind -maybe they'll get Bruce back to show everyone how festivals are closed properly!

fiction-factory - //I'm surprised Slade haven't been asked to do the legends section //
Slade are in that unenviable position of taking two members out with two 'others' under the Slade banner.
The two who made the band, Messrs Lea and Holder have far better things to do with their time, and don't need the money, so rather than indulgence with a poor copy, best to leave the legend alone.

Many years ago on an episode of Tomorrow's World, I saw Michael Rodd demonstrate a piece of equipment which we would 'all have in our homes'.
It was a digital music-player which allowed the listener to take out the vocal track(s).......that's how I'd like to listen to Coldplay.
I hear a brilliant bit of music and then find out it's by Coldplay and is going to have Chris Martin squeaking all over it at some point. :o(
