That is the wonderful and much-missed Quentin Crisp.

I interviewed, and spoke socially to Mr Crisp several times towards the end of his life - a wonderful witty warm and modest man, I still miss talking to him now.

I put it up as it reminded me of what Andy Hughs commented on earlier to me. "What a wonderful, witty and kind man Quentin Crisp was", who inspired Sting to write this great song. Hope you all like it.

Whoops! We crossed posts there Andy... He did come across as wise sweet man.
I did not know it was written about Mr Crisp. At least he was intelligible with his accent... unlike Geordie ;-)
Love that track too Patsy.
Some of Mr Crisps quotes are among my favourites of all time ::

"If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style"

" You must never try to keep up with the neighbours...you must drag them down to your level "

"There is no need to do any housework at all. After the first four years the dirt doesn't get any worse "

There are so many others...what a wonderful man. I envy you your experience
Andy !
Thank you Mikey.

One of my faves was when he spoke of ' ... leaning out as far as possible so fate could see me ...'

He is one of the very few people I have conversed with that made me feel as though I wanted to write down every single thing he said because it was either wise, or quotable, or both!
