This was the first Leonard Cohen song I ever heard, have loved him since that day.

LC always said he was annoyed he couldn't find a word to rhyme with 'oranges'.

It's one of a few that have no natural rhyme - pint, purple silver, month, ninth, wolf, opus, dangerous, marathon, and discombobulate.
Here you go Patsy.

Me too AH. Can't see anything Togo. On my smart phone here..
Indeed Patsy. Heard it nearly fifty years ago and it brings back such memories.
Just having a glass of Malbec, some Creme Brûlée chocolate and listening to Suzanne. Perfect.
That takes me back. Thanks, Patsy. Happy memories.

I drift away when listening to that song/ his voice.
Lovely early memories of dear friends.
I loved So long Marianne too. Wonderful lyrics.

But my favourite, lyrics wise, is 'Joan of Arc'. Such a powerful song.
Question Author
I often find myself singing So long Maryanne,! I've probably heard of Joan of Arc, but can't recall at the moment. I'm going to play the CD tomorrow morning, so I'll remind myself!
Ahhhh, I'm 21 again. Lovely.
Joan of Arc is on 'Songs of Love and Hate', Patsy.
