A Railcard Question
1 Answers
Following on from a recent thread, a question for Buenchico :
Chris - I have an "Old Gits Railcard" - which is linked to my Oyster Card and gives me 1/3 off fares (and some peak time relaxations I think). But it's a faff to have to remember to load money onto the Oyster card for my (infrequent) trips to London.
Can I get these discounts using a contactless bank card - if so, how?

However if you're travelling into London just for the day you can buy a rail ticket which includes a 6-zone Anytime Travelcard and you'll automatically get the one third discount off the Travelcard part (as well as the National Rail part). That's subject to a minimum fare of £17.20.
Alternatively you can buy a 6-zone Off-Peak Travelcard for £8.10 (instead of £12.30).
