Janet And John Arrive In Portugal.......

....and the journey was, as Janet said it would be, uneventful......see John smile.......well that won't last, will it.......

Janet decides to take both wheely cases to stock up at the local mini market......they will be easy to wheel back she tells John.......we won't have to be carrying heavy bags......(this is Janet's carless holiday)....
Janet sets of the security alarms in the mini market three times......John smirks.......the manageress blames John's back pack and takes it off him.......Janet smiles.....

Janet and John discover wheely cases don't wheel over cobbles....at least when one is full of wine......John carries the cases.....John chunters......quite a lot.......

Janet and John sit with a glass of wine and noodle on AB.......John spots Islay's comment on Ael's thread just as he sips his wine.....he laughs.....and chokes......

Janet is watching John choking......should she help him?.......Hmmmm she smiles and thinks about it.......... :-)

A group of Irish women are upstairs - one of them lives in the same village as Janet's cousin.

No doubt by the end of the evening they'll all be related by marriage.

John is eating (or, more accurately, drinking) humble pie.

He fancies himself as an oenophile and has been down to the Garrafeira on the quayside to buy some wine - it was quite dear (for Portugal) at an average of 8 euro a bottle.

Meanwhile Janet selected a couple of bottles from the mini-mercado 'because they had a pig on the label and cost under 2 euro' ...

... John is mortified to find that the rest of the birders prefer the pig wine ...
